Thanksgiving Food

Tomorrow is the day for giving thanks and enjoying a big plate of comfort food. And the football! I never forget the football. 🙂

We are doing a whole turkey this Thanksgiving. This turkey breast recipe is also an excellent choice. It always turns out tender and juicy. We will certainly have leftovers, and that means tasty dinners ahead like my delicious turkey noodle soup.

The next question is, do we want potatoes and gravy or cheesy potatoes? Both would be my answer. The cheesy potatoes are a nice make-ahead option, but potatoes and gravy are such a classic on Thanksgiving. We have pretty much settled on potatoes and gravy. Yum. 🙂

You have to have green bean casserole. This recipe with fresh green beans and bechamel sauce is heavenly.

I have been hungry for glazed carrots lately. They are so easy and would be a great addition to a Thanksgiving menu.

As of this writing, I haven’t decided if I am doing any bread or rolls. Fresh, warm bread is always a welcome addition, but who has oven room? Beer cheese bread is delicious warm or at room temperature.

I keep seeing alternatives to pumpkin pie all over the internet. Pumpkin pie will always be included for us. It’s a classic and one of our favorite pies. Not to say I wouldn’t eat any of these luscious desserts.

Now I’m hungry! I can’t wait to watch football and eat some amazing food. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
