This past weekend, we enjoyed a quick getaway to watch a WNBA game. We have been fans of the Minnesota Lynx for years. They have been a fun team to cheer for, winning four WNBA titles from 2011-2017.
This was our second time attending a Minnesota Lynx game. In 2017, we watched them defeat the Indiana Fever 111-52, the biggest margin of victory in history. We joked we should never attend another as it would never live up to the butt-kicking we witnessed that game! 🙂
This game was much more competitive. The Seattle Storm were ahead most of the second quarter. The Lynx did pull away in the second half of the game for a comfortable 83-64 victory. We had really good seats. It was so fun to see the team up close and in person.
We hadn’t been to the Target Center (the Lynx home court) for quite a while. The day before the game I was reviewing the bag policy as I hoped to carry a little purse for my cell phone, sunglasses, and ID. I discovered the bag size is limited to 5×9 inches, and none of my small purses were small enough. So, we made a run to lour local Target store for this cute, tiny little crossbody. It is just barely big enough to stuff my large iPhone and sunglasses and has a little side pocket for ID. It did the trick.
We got to downtown Minneapolis mid-morning. After checking into our hotel, we had a light lunch and walked around.
Before the 6 pm basketball game, we had an early dinner at Hell’s Kitchen. I had a Warm Greens Grain Salad with veggies, quinoa, over-easy eggs, avocado, and slivered almonds. It has my name written all over it. So good!
The next day we stopped at the zoo. We were there last month and didn’t see too many farm babies. This time we saw a baby calf, chicks, and, my favorite, these adorable piglets!
It was such a fun getaway!
