Happy Sunday!
I can happily say my tomatoes seem to be loving the hot weather. The small tomatoes have been ripening steadily for a while, and the large tomatoes are just starting to turn.
My peppers are also getting big and beautiful. We are disappointed the jalapeño peppers aren’t the least bit spicy! They do taste good, and I will probably just incorporate them into recipes as I do ripe bell peppers. I also have serrano and anaheim peppers and the jury is still out as to their spice level.
All in all, I have been happy with the garden this year.
Earlier this week we took a long walk around the local park. This park has a little of everything, including beautiful flower gardens and some barnyard animals.
I adore the calves and their big brown eyes. 🙂 The goats are also a lot of fun to watch.
Red roses are my all-time fav. The local grocery store had a rose sale and I took advantage. Fresh flowers are such a treat.
We have really enjoyed the Summer Olympics. I love sports anyway, but I get sucked into events I would normally never watch during the Olympics. Like golf, I never watch golf!
The equestrian events are fun to watch, mostly just to see the gorgeous horses. I was wondering aloud how the heck those horses from around the world traveled to Tokyo. I would have been a nervous wreck worried about my horse! If you wondered too, here you go.
What caught my eye this week
This year. Every year. I feel like a broken record, but it is so true. Time goes so quickly.
Why running is better than writing. As someone who dabbles in both endeavors, I think they can both be pretty hard. I have my live and in-person 5K race at the end of the month.
Why is it hard to accept a compliment? I love The Oatmeal.
Stubborn isn’t a bad thing when it means you are standing up for yourself and unafraid to say no.
Bella and her prim and proper pose. 🙂
Have a beautiful weekend.
