Happy Saturday.
We are having friends over for dinner tonight. We get together a few times a year, taking turns hosting. My biggest source of stress is the menu. I want something delicious, of course! But I also want a low-stress menu that turns out every time. I also like to serve a dish I haven’t shared with them in the past.
As I mentioned earlier this week, one of my favorite sheet-pan dinners will be our main course. Add a salad, bread, and a French apple pie for dessert, and it should be a great night!
I love the idea of prioritizing what is important, in this case, reading. Thanks to good deals on Kindle books and ebooks from the library through Hoopla, I have so many books to read. My favorite time to read is before bed, but I look forward to more time someday.
I would happily eat these candied sweet potatoes for dessert!
Patience is not my virtue. The idea of taking good care of yourself to help with patience makes sense to me.
Restaurant techniques to make your home kitchen more efficient. We have a bunch of plastic containers for storing leftovers and I always label them.
Why do we cook so many foods at 350 degrees F? 350 degrees is a common temperature for baking, but I feel like I use 400 degrees more for everyday cooking, probably because we roast vegetables so often.
I can rarely remember jokes, but this one stayed with me. Why was Minnesota so windy earlier this week? Because the Dakotas blow and Wisconsin sucks. Hahahaha! 😀
Stay warm and have a great weekend.
