Weekend Randoms 4/10/2022

Welcome to Sunday.

We are finally getting together with family today after rescheduling several times due to weather, illness and I don’t even remember what all. What was supposed to be a holiday get-together has turned into a ready-for spring celebration. Or something like that. 😉

An early afternoon brunch is planned. I am providing pumpkin muffins and double chocolate peanut butter muffins; two of my favorites. I also considered monster cookie muffins, but then there is the raisin conundrum. People seem to either love them or hate them. I have only recently started eating regular raisins, after sticking to the golden variety for years. But so many good choices, I don’t think I could have gone wrong.

Another round of booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine was authorized for those of us over 50. I am fortunate that I don’t have any underlying medical conditions to make me especially vulnerable. But as a nurse, I was more than happy for another layer of protection. Happily, I can report, other than a mildly sore arm for a few days, it was a piece of cake.

COVID is not over, as much as we all want it gone.

Years ago, I started a travel folder on my laptop. I found myself looking through articles or blog posts and seeing links for hotels, attractions, restaurants, and just general travel guides. At some point, I decided it would be worth saving these gems for the future. Some are for places we have been and will most likely travel to again. Some are for places I just hope to someday see. I went through my links a few days ago. It is fun to dream about travel again. Someday.

What caught my eye this week

The extraordinarily well-qualified Ketanji Brown Jackson will join the Supreme Court this summer. She is a much-needed, although unfortunately, minority voice for a court that is set to take on some important issues, including a woman’s right to choose.

The most beautiful place in every state. Our local state park, the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, and the mountain views in Colorado are the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Beautiful New York streets. I swear I have seen them all in movies or TV shows.

Footage thought to be of an 11-year-old Prince. Sure looks like him!

I would drive out of my way to read this restaurant’s sign.

One of the resident piles of fluff, otherwise known as Bailey. 🙂

Have a lovely weekend.
