Happy Halloween!
And happy birthday to our precious Bailey. She is enjoying a spoiled life as an only cat. We really miss her sister, Bella. But I am very grateful to have Bailey keeping us on our toes. She seems to be doing okay for a 17-year-old kitty. You can’t tell from the photo, but trust me, she certainly has a lot of energy!
Bailey doesn’t look like a Halloween birthday girl. Velvet certainly did! We talk about Velvet and Bella quite often. I think we will always miss them.
We plan to go to the local Day of the Dead celebration later today. It’s a fun event.
Tonight I will be giving out Halloween candy. I haven’t given out for many, many years. But I got a wild hair and decided to do it this year. I have no idea how many trick-or-treaters I will get. I know the streets have looked pretty busy in past years. But I know it depends a lot on the weather and what else is going on in town. I have a big bag of mini chocolate candy bars and a smaller box of mini cookies. We will see how it goes!
As far as Halloween movies, give me an old slasher film anytime. Right now, I am watching the original Friday the 13th. Halloween is one of my all-time favorites.
The midterm election is Tuesday. With all the news about early voting, I feel like it has already started. We will be voting on Election Day. My anger and fear two years ago were not unfounded. I hope we, as a country, send a strong message.
Have a fun and safe Halloween.
