We finally watched The Thursday Murder Club on Saturday. I love the books and knew I would like the movie. The cast is perfect. I thought the film captured the cozy mystery vibe of the books very well.
What does this have to do with my nearly 16-year-old cats? The line “bright-eyed, feisty old ladies” was used by one character to describe herself and the other female lead. It made me chuckle. I also laughed when Elizabeth, Helen Mirren’s character, didn’t appreciate the description. I would agree.
Hubby said it describes our cats, and I have to agree.
They are certainly still bright-eyed and have a good amount of energy for mature cats. They both get the zoomies every day and remain agile.
Bailey is the more independent and feisty of the two, but they both want what they want. They have their people wrapped around their little paws. 😉
Bella and Bailey both have their health issues. Bailey has recently developed kidney issues and has had a couple of urinary tract infections. They both now eat cat food that also supports kidney health and mobility.
Bella has a history of bowel obstructions requiring surgery. She gets regular shavings so she doesn’t ingest a lot of hair during grooming. Both cats also get a cat laxative daily. Bella likes it well enough. Bailey loves it and begs for it every morning.
They turn 16 next month. I am very grateful we have had so many years with these sweet kitties.
