Happy Weekend.
I wanted to get a photo of the flowering crab tree early on. Hubby commented that the tree in full bloom seems to bring on a windstorm, which brings all those beautiful blooms down. He is usually exactly right, but so far the blooms are hanging on pretty well.

This is a perfect time of year for a walk outside. It’s warm, but not stifling hot. The insects aren’t trying to carry you away. My favorite is that you have a good chance of seeing baby geese, ducks, and bunnies. Three Canada goose families were enjoying their day at a local park. This pair and their three goslings were exiting the pond. The goslings were wiggling their little butts as they came out of the water. So cute! 🙂
People keep asking if I have my garden and flowers done. I know many people start the process on Mother’s Day weekend, but I am happy if I am done by Memorial Day.
The current administration seems hellbent on destroying anything that keeps people informed and aware. I consider libraries important; luckily, Minnesota libraries receive a fair amount of funding at the state and local levels.
Ten contemporary books to read before you die. I have read four of them and have several more on my to-read list.
Hubby and I are diligent in keeping our food waste minimal. The freezer is a great tool. Cooking for the two of us, I often use a part of a can of ingredients like coconut milk and beans. I freeze the rest to use for a later date. Another great tool is a vacuum sealer. We picked up one recently with some mason jars. We use this mainly to help preserve the cat’s food that comes in a big bag and gets vacuum sealed into jars, so it is still fresh at the end of the month.

Bailey was randomly sitting in the hallway outside our bedroom one morning. Usually, she is sound asleep in one of the many cat beds in the house.
Have a lovely weekend.
