Weekend Randoms 10/6/2024

Happy Sunday.

I feel like the leaves aren’t turning colors as quickly this year. Yesterday we considered a walk down by the river to check out the leaves, but they are still very green. Of course, it goes from hot to cold daily, if not hour to hour. Add to that our wet spring and summer and now dry fall, and the trees are probably thoroughly confused.

The 4-0 Vikings (I am not getting sick of saying that) play in London today! With the game at 8:30 am, we will be having our breakfast instead of pizza while we watch the game. But we will be doing pizza later today.

Later today, the Lynx play the Connecticut Sun. They are a game away from another trip to the WNBA finals.

The squirrels are busy getting ready for winter. Several are usually out in the yard at all times. This cute little guy was enjoying a drink of water. We started offering the water a few years ago, attempting to dissuade the animals from using the garden tomatoes as a water source. It worked, and we have been doing it ever since. An added bonus, they look adorable. 🙂

Grey’s Anatomy season 21 began last week. The writers have never shied away from tackling topics like sexual assault, LGBTQ, race, and abortion rights.

The calendar says it’s time to bring plants inside, but we are still getting 80-degree days! The hanging pothos plant will come inside for winter, but I am not sure about the herbs. We have never had good luck with basil, and the thyme is lucky if it makes it through the winter inside. We have the best luck with our two rosemary plants, but one needs to be repotted or start over from scratch.

Beauty ranking for the 50 states. I was all prepared to be mad about a low rank for Minnesota. Twenty-second isn’t bad, but I would have swapped Minnesota and Wisconsin (haha). I certainly agree with the high ratings for California and Colorado.

Have a great weekend.
