Weekend Randoms 12/18/2022

We lost a special guy this week when my father-in-law died unexpectedly. He was a father and grandfather who loved fishing, sports, and his family. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, he was very proud of his military service. Since his well-earned retirement after years of owning and operating an auto repair shop, he enjoyed spending summers in northern Minnesota.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife of over 50 years and their beloved dog, Katie. He leaves behind Hubby and his three brothers along with their families. No doubt his fishing buddies up north will miss him, especially next summer.

He was a friend and fellow Vikings fan/commiserator. We will miss him.

Speaking of the Minnesota Vikings. All they did is complete the biggest comeback in NFL history to win the NFC North Division title. Unreal.

Of course, the holidays keep rolling on. As of this writing, I am still working on getting some ornaments on the artificial tree. Yup, we ended up with the fake tree.

Bailey & the Christmas Tree

The cats always seem to like the tree. Something new and different, not to mention the occasional stray ornament to bat around the living room. 🙂

I am making a few Christmas-ish treats and I have the gifts I need. Whatever I get done is fine. Whatever doesn’t get done is also fine with me.

I like this list of holiday movies. It includes some sweet, completely predictable, Hallmark-channel sort of Christmas movies. I watched Falling for Christmas, which was sweet and predictable. While I worked on this post, I had Something from Tiffany’s in the background. Slightly less predictable and very cute.

I also want to check out The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Cats and Christmas trees. Always cute.

Have a peaceful weekend.
