Happy Sunday!
An even happier Sunday if you are fortunate enough to have a long weekend.
We are having friends over for dinner this weekend. I always stress, probably a little too much, over what the heck to serve when entertaining at home. The food has to be delicious, but I don’t want to be scrambling in the kitchen last minute. I would rather enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine out on the deck with our company.
So the menu will consist of baked pasta, Caesar side salad, and bread. For dessert, we will enjoy strawberry rhubarb pie and ice cream.
Lilacs are so pretty, but the smell is even better.
The local garden center is such a joy this time of year. Last year’s garden season was smack dab in the heart of the pandemic. Making my way down the aisles with the other masked patrons was more stressful than fun. This year was back to joy, and I was grateful.
I might be done shopping for flowers. Might.
Every year I remind myself the more I buy, the more has to get watered when the hot, dry summer really hits.
I do like a couple of pretty pots in front of the house and then some on the deck. The deck is also home to lots of potted herbs.
These pretty bushes surround the back deck. I especially love the little spring flowers.
What caught my eye this week:
Blackwater photography – incredible photos of sea creatures.
Loki, coming soon to Disney+, almost didn’t happen. We are excited for the series.
Farmer’s Market season is here.
Get the most out of a doctor appointment. I have found I need that list of questions.
I was thinking about fun breakfast options for Memorial Day. These are good for breakfast or dinner!
Have a happy Sunday!
