It is peak spring color season right now!
These lovely shrubs with their abundant dark pink flowers are so beautiful. I always have to look them up as I can never remember their name. Weigela shrubs are very low-maintenance. As the weather in recent years has varied from drought to torrential rain, plants need to be hardy to survive.

This is my shade pot. As I stated in my last post, this area is a challenge for a flower pot. The area is very deep shade.

We see this cardinal pair pretty routinely on the deck feeder. Often, it’s just one or the other. At least, we assume it’s the same pair. Who knows, they may be any number of cardinal couples partaking in the food.
I was lucky to catch them both the other day. They were kind enough to allow a sparrow to enjoy the offerings with them. The birds are far more willing to share than the squirrels. The squirrels feed one at a time. Any attempt by another to interfere results in a battle, with the victor enjoying the food.
