Happy weekend.
I am making blueberry cobbler for dessert tonight, after confirming with our guests that they both like blueberries. Although I was pretty sure they did, I didn’t eat blueberries until recently.
The dinner menu is chicken sun-dried tomato orzo with roasted asparagus and some bread from a local bakery. I thought that sounds somewhat springy. I could not decide on a dessert. Carrot cake is always a good fallback, but I wanted to change it up. Hubby and I put our heads together and came up with blueberry cobbler. I can’t wait.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles was a terrific book. The cast of the new Apple TV+ show looks great. I am looking forward to seeing it.
We are living in an age of information overload, and a lot of it is crap. It’s so easy to get caught up in the mass of information and feel like you aren’t doing things right. I try to remember that not everything is aimed at everyone.
After reading a good review, I watched the documentary, Perilous Passage, on HBO. Christy Turlington not only hosts and narrates the show, but she is also very involved with the cause. After the harrowing birth of her own child, she became acutely aware of the dismal maternal mortality rate in the US compared to other developed, wealthy countries. The overturning of Roe V Wade only further complicated what was already a problem.
The release of the NFL regular season schedule has become quite a production over the years. The Vikings released a cute video to make the announcement. The video features our kicker, Will Reichard. The kicker wouldn’t normally be one of my favorite players, not to mention popular among a lot of fans. But having a reliable kicker is a luxury I have come to appreciate.
Enjoy your weekend.
