Happy weekend.
Fake spring, it got us again.
We took a walk outside three days in a row earlier in the week. I am not talking about a winter walk with a heavy coat, hat, and scarf, and still wishing for something cover your face. No, I mean a light jacket that gets unzipped halfway through the walk because you are hot. Hot! In the middle of February.
Two days later, a blizzard. Whoop.
The outdoor pets, as we have come to call the squirrels and birds, were certainly affected by the sudden reappearance of winter. Instead of merrily enjoying the food offered, they had to dig through the snow for the nuts and seeds. That adorable little guy pictured above had no idea he would soon be sticking his little nose in the snow to look for food.
What a joy to watch Alysa Liu win the gold medal. I love her spirit and attitude. The US women’s hockey team won gold the same day. Canada played so well, I really didn’t want either team to lose.
The Kay Scarpetta book series by Patricia Cornwell is my all-time favorite. I cannot wait for the upcoming series based on the books. Judging from the trailer, the series looks to be based on recent books, which have been terrific. I could never decide who I would cast as Dr. Scarpetta. Nicole Kidman is fantastic in everything; she will be excellent.
I haven’t been to a movie theater in a while. The Devil Wears Prada sequel might make me go. All the main characters are reprising their iconic roles.
Have a lovely weekend.
