Happy weekend.
Everything is gingerbread this year! I have seen so many creative recipes with the warm, spicy flavors of gingerbread.
I know gingerbread is a classic flavor of the holidays. But so is peppermint, eggnog, and cranberries. But gingerbread seem like the it ingredient of holiday 2025. These muffins came to mind. I might need to make them soon.
This gingerbread crust sounds so good, maybe with pumpkin?
I like gingerbread, but if I have to chose, I am still team peppermint.
My holiday baking is going to get done this weekend. I always do sugar cookie cutouts, they are a big favorite. Some of the sugar cookie dough will also get used to try some date-filled cookies. My mom made date cookies and hubby loved them. I never ate them and never got the recipe. Sugar cookie dough wouldn’t be an exact copy, but they should still be good. Plus I plan to make some cranberry bars and maybe one more thing.
The case for breaking your fitness streak. For years, I had an absurdly long streak of “closing my rings” on my Apple Watch. My goals were fairly manageable, but it meant exercising for 30 minutes every day and hitting my active calorie goal. The streak was broken when I jammed my foot the first full day of our New York City vacation. Spending the majority of the day with my foot elevated meant an end to my streak. I was surprised how unbothered I was to see the streak end.
Hubby and I are both regular blood donors. There is always such a need and it feels good to do it.
Have a great weekend.
