Happy Sunday.
The cats celebrated their birthday last week in true cat fashion. By that, I mean they slept the majority of the day, ate, and got petted, kissed, and generally spoiled rotten. We did give them a new toy too, a crinkly catnip-filled fish since we hadn’t been able to find the little snakes they used to love. These photos were taken on their actual birthday—proof of how cute they still are at 15 years old.
Tuesday feels like a long time coming. In truth, it has been a long time coming. Even though the presidential election changed dramatically a few months ago when President Biden stepped aside and Vice President Harris announced her candidacy, it seems we have been at this forever.
Hubby and I are going to vote in person on Election Day. We did vote by mail in 2020, as many did, due to COVID. But I like the tradition of going to the polls on The Day, and our polling place doesn’t usually get slammed with people. I have some comfort food in the form of a creamy pasta dish planned for dinner. We will need it.
I also have a dentist checkup and cleaning that day, because the election isn’t enough stress for the day. But I know oral health is so important.
I never got around to watching any spooky movies on Halloween. I am watching Don’t Move right now. Creepy!
The new Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix looks good. I am currently about halfway through Presumed Innocent on Apple TV+. It is excellent.
I was in the mood to pass out candy for Halloween. But our current home improvement project means the house lights are down, and we have contractor vehicles and equipment sitting around. It wasn’t a good year to do it. With the cold, rainy weather it was just as well. Had we had leftover candy, I doubt we would have had to worry about expiration dates. 🙂
What does a pinch or a dash mean? Because no one is going to measure one-sixteenth of a teaspoon.
The cats are probably ready for the extra hour of sleep tonight. I do like that part of the time change.
Have a cozy weekend.
