Weekend Randoms 9/29/2024

Happy Sunday.

I stepped outside on the deck at 5:30 yesterday morning. Yes, 5:30 am on a Saturday. My teen and 20s self wouldn’t recognize me.

Our breakfast frittata was in process and I wanted to add some fresh parsley, thyme, and rosemary. The air outside was crisp, fresh, and felt like fall. Cool and crisp in the morning, yet the temperatures warm up nicely during the day. I hope we get at least another month of this weather. Cool at night for good sleeping, but still warm and summery during the day.

Canned pumpkin from ALDI gets a shout-out. Pumpkin spice season seems to start earlier every year, but I am ready for it.

It’s been nearly 40 years since I have been on a first date. Hubby and I will joke when we eat particularly messy foods that it would not be a good choice on a date, much less a first one. Nachos come to mind. 🙂

I recently learned of the term “wishcycling” which we all do when we place items in the recycling bin that don’t belong there. I especially like the reduce and reuse reminder in this article.

Ina Garten would know a good food processor. We also have a Cuisinart, but a smaller, less expensive one. I had resisted having one more thing on the kitchen counter for years, but it does come in handy.

The Minnesota Lynx advanced to the next round of the WNBA playoffs behind their Defensive Player of the Year. Lucky for us Lynx fans she is also a scoring machine!

Oh, and the undefeated Vikings play the Packers today. 😉

The photo is a little blurry, but I have to share it. Bailey sleeps in the weirdest positions. She is often on her back. When she is right-side-up she usually is contorted into shapes that sometimes don’t look particularly comfortable.

Have a lovely weekend.
