Weekend Randoms 10/25/2025

Happy weekend.

When I started writing this post, the weather was damp and chilly. I found myself wishing I had a bowl of turkey meatball pasta. This photo was from weeks ago, and it was probably hot that day! Garden tomatoes and fresh basil made it extra delicious.

We are going to the Day of the Dead celebration later today. It has become a yearly event for us. Late October is such a crapshoot weatherwise. It can be a gorgeous fall day or cold and miserable. We have been to the event in both weather situations. This year is looking like a good one.

The trees haven’t reached the peak of their color, but I snapped a picture anyway as the wind was howling.

I love to cook, but food is so good when someone else cooks for me.

ALDI dupes, some of which are better than the name brand. Those mini naans are excellent!

The No Kings protest we attended last Saturday was entirely peaceful, as was the case across the nation. The inflatable frogs, unicorns, chickens, and dinosaurs were plentiful. They add to the peaceful, positive narrative.

These are some tough times. It’s hard to be positive, or at least not super negative. I like the idea of starting by being neutral.

Bella has taken to sleeping under a blanket that ended up draped over the couch. She will peek out when she knows we are around. It is so cute!

Enjoy the fall weather, or have a bowl of pasta, or both!
