This gorgeous mum caught my eye when we were walking out of the grocery store last week. I hadn’t seen a multi-color mum before. So beautiful! I was even more pleased to see the reasonable price tag. We went back the next day, and I was able to get one. The purple and gold side goes especially well with the Viking flag. 😉
Mums catch my eye every fall, and I often can’t resist buying one. There are some very pretty one-color varieties. But those multi-color varieties are my new favorite.
I have been starting potatoes in the microwave for years. Baked potatoes are a favorite side, but I don’t always have an hour to get them done in the oven. Most potato recipes, like this and this, benefit from a head start in the microwave.
My brain takes its job in the middle of the night very seriously. It comes up with any number of things to ruminate on at 2 am.
These polar bears are living in an abandoned research station. Polar bears are so adorable. I am happy to see they look healthy.
On the subject of bears, Chunk won Fat Bear Week despite a broken jaw. He is adorable and obviously devoted to the cause of fattening up for winter!
One more cute animal story! Francine is a lovely calico cat living at a Lowe’s in Richmond, Virginia. She got lost when she hopped on a truck to a distribution center. After an exhaustive search, she was found and back at her post. Now with an AirTag. 😉
