Happy weekend.
I cannot get it through my head that it is Memorial Day weekend!
Years ago, I would have been in a panic that I hadn’t started my garden or flowers yet. It certainly wasn’t planned. My day off has been busy, and the weather doesn’t always cooperate. I could go on the weekend, but everybody goes on the weekend. No thanks. This year, I am going with the flow. Starting early really doesn’t gain much anyway. Tomatoes are ready when they are ready, whether I plant them early May or late May/early June.
I finally bought three tomato plants and a pepper plant earlier this week. I purchased a mini pepper plant after I shared an article about snacking peppers. Every garden year is an experiment. I also bought some fresh herbs. This weekend, I hope to buy flowers and get everything planted.
We are also going out for Sunday brunch because it’s Memorial Day weekend. I just think it’s the perfect weekend for brunch.
There is a nearly empty jar of orange marmalade in my refrigerator, and I really want to try this. Would it be an orange margarita? Not only does it sound like a fun drink, but I also love a way to use the last bits of a jar of food.
We typically have dinner between 5:30-6, sometimes even earlier. As people who get up early and go to bed early, we wouldn’t want to eat much later. Other than maybe vacation, dinner at 7 or 8 p.m. doesn’t work for us.
Honey and other sticky substances are some of the hardest ingredients to measure. These are good ideas!

Bailey looks like she is sliding over to let her sister sleep next to her. She isn’t. She and Bella will not share a cat bed. But they both tend to sleep in goofy positions. 🙂
Have a great weekend!
