Weekend Randoms 11/7/2026

Happy weekend.

It’s still fall.

I saw this because the season seemed to change directly to Christmas the minute Halloween was over. Actually, not even over. I saw pumpkins being edged out of their display to put out Christmas wreaths. Before Halloween!

Just no.

As mentioned, I did give out candy last Saturday. My big bag of mini candy bars was gone in less than an hour and I had to break into the cookie packs. I saw reports of empty neighborhoods, but we certainly had our share of trick-or-treaters.

The Blue wave many of us hoped for during the Midterm elections became a blue tsunami. Lots of young, exciting Democrats the party so desperately needs.

I guess I should admit I was watching The Holiday while I wrote this post. Yes, it’s early to be watching Christmas movies. Too early, in fact. The thing is, I wanted to watch it last year after seeing someone reference it. By the time I sat down to do so, it had left streaming. So this year, I watched it in early November. Catch it on Hulu/Disney+ before it disappears. It takes place over the holiday season, but it’s not overly Christmas-y.

Cold & flu season will be here soon. Honestly, it’s probably already started. Starbucks has a Honey Citrus Mint Tea that many customers call Medicine Ball Tea. People I know swear it helps bring their illness to a halt. I don’t know about that, but it’s really good. It soothed my sinuses when they were barking last fall. But now, the poor baristas are dealing with sick customers. At least wear a mask, people!

The joy of falling behind. This actually sounds wonderful. I can remember when falling behind sounded like a nightmare. But now it sounds like a worthy goal.

Have a lovely weekend.
